Day 1, again

Cycling, 156 calories burned, 5.34 miles, 3 pound free weights work-out for arms, squats.  I decided it has been so long since I got a half an hour of dedicated exercise in, I may as well start over on the count.

The weather is very foggy today, and the pavement had a thin layer of black ice that could be felt, but not seen.

I spent some time yesterday, reading some self-improvement articles, including making schedules ("Plans are nothing; planning is everything.") to get stuff done, so I had 8 a.m. gym on mine.  I was afraid that others would be there, but I was the only one, so I watched the news (weatherman Bob Shaw is recovering from surgery, so there were clips to assure us that he is still alive).  The article on weight I read was this:  How My Weight Is Hurting My Business

So I hope, plan, will be going to the gym this week at 8.  I thought about my PBS sewing classes that I watch on Tuesday, so tomorrow's may be at 9:00 when I walk out the door.  But now, I need to go check the schedule and see what next for today.  The weather will be borderline for the rest of the week, so I definitely will be using the gym.  Besides, I need new shoes before I get back to Miller's Landing.

Yesterday on the drive to church, as I took the Revere exit, I thought I was looking at smog, as there was a distinctive brown edge on the top of the fog bank, and it was so dense, I couldn't see past the men's homeless shelter, which is located halfway down the block north of the intersection. On the way back, the deer in the Simpson and 14th roundabout were still decked out in holiday finery.  Mrs. Deer had on a nice scarf of red cloth and a variety of bells, as did Fawn, while Mr. had on a green scarf with gold sleigh bells and his red nose.
